Biography:

Certified CMA teacher since 2010, Lewis is a wonderful member of our faculty with a contagious passion for music and a fun, engaging teaching style.

Lewis has been contributing to the music scene in Toronto since the age of 11. His talent and attitude have given him the opportunity to play with artists such as Canadian Idol Finalist/Sony Music recording artist Mookie Morris as well as former Warner Music recording artist Dylan Murray, tour parts of Ontario and Quebec and work with veteran rock producer Murray Daigle. He attended arts schools from grades 7-12 where he learned to play a variety of styles from rock to funk to jazz and played percussion in the TDSB Youth Orchestra which gave him the opportunity to travel to Vienna and Prague.

Lewis has studied jazz performance at U of T with great Canadian jazz drummer Terry Clarke and has also studied with Toronto jazz legends Bob Mclaren, Lorne Nehring and Barry Rhomberg. His extensive and broad knowledge of drumming pedagogy has allowed him to compile an effective regiment for drummers of all skill levels. He has taught students ages 8-60 and is comfortable teaching any age group.

Lewis' personable and yet efficient teaching method makes for a comfortable learning atmosphere for students of all ages.
