Biography:

Certified CMA teacher since 2010, Steve is a wonderful addition to the Academy faculty, and ensures a great experience for each student by combining a passion for music with a gentle and patient approach.

Steve is a professional guitarist, composer and instructor originally from Alberta who has recently moved east to pursue music in Toronto. Since graduating from the Grant MacEwan University Jazz Program in Edmonton Alberta, Steve has been an active performer and recording artist in the Canadian music scene, fronting numerous original projects and playing with dozens of artists as a sideman. In 2009 he released two albums: one with a Canadian progressive rock group and a jazz/fusion collective with members in cities all over the country. Along with this, Steve has also been an active instructor, having taught guitar since 2003 to children and adults in both private and group settings. He promotes a comfortable and friendly learning environment with a focus on repertoire, improvisation and composition.
