Certified Canada Music Academy teacher since 2015.
Ric can teach a wide array of styles, including rock, blues, folk and jazz.
Ric is a Deanís Honours Graduate from the Applied Music program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ont. This is a three-year comprehensive jazz/classical program designed to produce professional musicians.
Ric also has twenty-five years experience teaching guitar and bass in music schools and privately as well as band ensemble and group lessons in elementary and high schools. Ricís curriculum is based on the knowledge and experience he has gained from performing in a wide array of bands and styles, including rock, blues, folk and jazz; plus a series of lessons, derived from his musical education that is designed to take a student from beginner to advanced. This includes Ė chords, progressions, rhythms, scales, improvisation and ear training, all while learning a song of your choice, as well as composing your own tune.
Ric brings all of this forward in a positive relaxed manner that is designed to make learning to play guitar an enjoyable experience at a pace the student is comfortable with.
