Biography:

An extremely likable member of our team with a cutting-edge knowledge of teaching and learning music, Chris has been a certified CMA teacher since 2009.

Chris has been teaching bass lessons for over 6 years and greatly enjoys his students. Although he specializes in jazz, Chris can teach many genres of music and offers lessons on both electric bass and double bass. He teaches in a fun and friendly manner, whilst putting an important emphasis on harmonic and technical knowledge, ear training, reading, and improvisation. Chris tailors his lessons to each individual student‘s specific needs, wants, and desires in order to achieve the most appropriate method of teaching and to ensure a successful learning experience.

Chris has been playing bass for over 6 years and is currently pursuing jazz studies at Humber College, majoring on double bass. While studying at Humber, Chris has had the opportunity to study with some of Toronto’s top jazz musicians, including Mike Downes, Keiran Overs and Neil Swainson. Humber College has a strong history of producing some of the finest jazz musicians in Toronto; Chris considers himself fortunate to be enrolled in the program, and looks forward to sharing this knowledge and experience with his students.
