Biography:

Certified CMA teacher since 2011, Luiz is a dynamic and patient teacher that truly enjoys seeing students develop a passion for playing music.

Luiz started his musical education in 2001 with guitar lessons; in 2003 he switched to voice at BsB Musical, where he studied for 4 years with two different teachers. In 2013, Luiz got his degree in Music Theatre Performance.

From 2005 to 2009 Luiz attended the summer program at the Escola de Musica de Brasilia (the music conservatory in Brasilia) where he studied voice in various styles with different teachers, and also took performance classes. During this time, he also studied classical voice at Brasilia's University, Pop, Rock and Musical Theatre at GTR (another Brazilian music school), and attended several workshops in Brazil, Argentina and Canada. Luiz still teaches some workshops when he is in Brazil, and he is thrilled to be a teacher at Canada Music Academy!

Luiz has been performing as a solo artist, as well as with bands and groups since 2000. Teaching since 2006, he has worked in 3 music schools in Brazil (ICAM, Referencia Musical, as well as the renowned Brazilian music academy BsB Musical) as a vocal teacher and vocal coordinator.
